Why do I need to "Request Access" for a Passport profile when I am going through the check-out process?

Why a user would need to "Request Access" to "Claim" a profile

 

Why You are Being Asked to Request Access:

When a user wants to purchase the Passport for a player who already has an existing profile, they need to "Request Access" during the check-out process. This situation arises when a player's profile was created by a Passport staff member during player check-in at a Passport event, rather than through a registered Passport user account. In order to attach the existing profile to an account, it must be "claimed" by the user.

 

What Happens After You Request Access:

To claim an existing profile, the user needs to submit a request for access. Our Passport staff will then review the claim request. Once the claim request is accepted, users will receive an email notification to inform them that their claim has been approved and the player's existing profile will be linked to the new user's account.

After the request is approved and the profile is officially claimed, users can go back to the checkout page and proceed with purchasing their Passport.
